Feed The Resistance: Chili…and Chili Beer!
We’re just over a week away from the big game – so to get ready for it, I cooked up a batch of my famous chili! It’s based on a recipe that I found many years ago. The centerpiece of the recipe is a great spice-blend that includes Chili Powder, Garlic Powder, Cumin, Oregano, Basil, plus a little Sugar, Salt, and Seasoned Pepper. That spice-blend is mixed with 3 different kinds of beans (red, white and black), a can of tomatoes, some chopped onions, some chopped up green pepper, some red wine (which I replaced with beer – it seems a little more traditional for Chili).
To pair with the Chili, Dee found a beer called “Chili Cheese Brew,” a collab from Hormel Chili and Modist Brewing Company in Minnesota.
