Feed The Resistance: Halloween

With this being Halloween season, I wanted to make sure I did something special to keep the vampires away!  So…Basque Garlic Soup!  Because, you know – garlic keeps the vampires away!  And so far it’s worked – I had this for dinner last night, and the leftovers earlier today…and NO VAMPIRES!

To pair with this very garlicky soup, Dee said she looked for a Garlic Beer – to mirror the flavors…but couldn’t find one, so she went with contrasting flavors.  In this case the contrasting flavor of Third Space‘s “Good Cheer” Dark Lager worked perfectly.  The beer has a little bit of a sweetness to it, which mellowed out the strong garlic, and the strong garlic mellowed the sweetness of the beer a bit (but you still got some of each).
