Feed The Resistance: Kwanza
All month long we’ve been in the holiday spirit – so I thought we would continue with that idea, but change up the holiday. So, this time around – I made a dish for Kwanzaa. If found the recipe for Soha Chicken Jollof Rice in one of my all-time favorite cookbooks – “Marcus Off Duty – The Recipes I Cook at Home” by Marcus Samuelsson. I have loved every recipe that I have ever made from this book…until this one. I’m guessing I messed something up, since everything else has always been so good, but this one came out a little bland for my taste. That said, I love everything that went into the recipe – Chicken, onions, bell pepper, hot chile, carrot, garlic, tomatoes, curry powder, and more – so I will definitely try this again, and hopefully discover what I did wrong this time.
Dee did no wrong – to pair with this, she brought in “Before I Die” lager from Surly Brewing Company…which was GREAT!
