The Madison native returns to take over mornings on WRIS, The Resistance. “Pat helped define alternative music in Madison. It’s so important to have him here and be a part of it,” said Randy Hawke, Vice President of Programming for Mid-West Family. Gallagher worked in alternative radio in Madison for 27 years before joining Mid-West Family Madison for a brief time then heading to WCNR, Charlottesville, VA to do mornings.

“I’m thrilled to be back in my hometown, doing what I love best—playing great music at a great radio station,” said Gallagher. “I’m proud to be a part of Mid-West Family and grateful for the opportunity to be a part of such a fantastic company. I’m looking forward to doing amazing things with the team here at The Resistance. There’s a lot more to come!”

In addition to mornings on The Resistance, Gallagher will be assisting in programming the heritage radio station WMGN, Magic 98 and will have a feature on WOZN, The Zone named The Active Zone which will focus on the activities Gallagher loves. “Pat epitomizes the Madison lifestyle, with his love of running, cycling and he’s even a three time Ironman Wisconsin finisher” said Hawke.

Gallagher will be at Taste of Madison this weekend hosting The Resistance Stage on East Washington Avenue. The stage headlines Barns Courtney with Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Paper Jackets and more.
